Unit 1 vs. Unit 2, etc.
Note that Marvel Company that produces 22 conversion kits is no longer Bob Marvel - the guy that founded the company. He sold it.
Bob Marvel is building the new 22 kits for STI, but they're not affiliated with the Marvel ones on Marvel's sight.
Here's a picture of the STI 22 kit:

Again, we hope to get 1911 units later this month and 2011 units in September.

Does this work on a Norico 1911 A1 model?
What type of .22 Long Rifle ammo does it require or perfer? (eg. High Veliocity? No soft points? No Sub Sonic? Only CCI?)
How many magazines does it come with? Will you sell extra? If so how much?
Is there any way for placing a deposit? Or is it first come first sereve?
How does this one different from the Kimber version?
:runaway:

1. Probably, It's designed for Standard 1911s. There's no reason it shouldn't work on a Norinco.
2. No special ammo is specified. I'm sure like all 22s - it will have it's preferences.
3. Comes with 1. Extras price TBD when they arrive, and of course, will be stocked.
4. I'm making a list and all will be contacted in order when they arrive. I'm not collecting deposits because if they're delayed again, it would not be fair to the customer. Email me if you want on that list. (No PM or posts, please)
5. Better, at least - both STI and Marvel are far higher quality brand names than Kimber, with better reputations to uphold.

Do the 2011 kits have the slide relieved at the front as pictures or are they left slab slided so they mate up with the full length dust cover guns??
Thanks.

They are relieved. The only difference is the magazine provided.

Are all 1911 kits you have coming in spoken for?Yes, but once they get here (tomorrow) I'll be contacting the list and if I don't hear from people this week to finailize the transaction, what's left will be fair game. I do expect a steady flow of these as time goes on too.

Got mine a few days ago and was able to get it out to the range. I'm really pleased with it. It consumed Winchester High Velocity without any problems at all and accuracy seems really good. I was shooting off-hand and getting 7 ring or better at 25 yards once I had it sighted in. I'm not the greatest shooter and I expect a better shooter would be nailing the 10 ring with this pretty consistently but I'm shooting better with this than I am with my High Standard!
I tried a few other types of ammo in it, Winchester Target (worked), Power Point (slide wouldn't lock back on empty), Velocitor (slide wouldn't lock back on empty), Blazer (slide wouldn't lock back on empty and had a couple stove pipes). I should note that the ammo the slide wasn't locking back on isn't recomended for the conversion. It was a bonus that Winchester Target worked but I'm going to stick with the High Velocity as thats what the manual recomends and I want a little bit more recoil for training purposes. For me this unit is meant for training with my 1911 not for bulleye shooting.
One note, I wasn't able to get to the range for a couple days so I was "forced" to lubricate it with the supplied oil and let it soak for a couple nights. I'm pretty sure that helped with the success because they ship dry.
By the way, mine is mounted on a Colt Special Combat Government and by the design of the STI conversion I don't see why it shouldn't function just as well on any standard frame 1911 because it is a self contained unit.
Cheers

I sometimes wish every gun would come with oil and a note that says "use a lot" - too many times I see folks that just aren't lubricating the moving parts enough.

Would this work on a STI Targetmaster? It has the full underlug so I am curious since the guide rod comes out and is replaced by the kit?

My friend would like to know if the Aluminum or steel compensator for the original Marvel .22lr kit will work with the STI version you sell. I have no knowledge of compensators and conversion kits so I thought I'd ask you lol.

The Marvel company had patents that Bob Marvel sold with the company.
He had to find new (turns out he found better) ways to do things with the kits he builds for STI.

Does eack kit come with an actual teast target? Any accuracy guarantee? No and No.
STI never publishes accuracy statements. That's because it's too easy for them to do an accuracy test with match grade ammo from a ransom rest under proper conditions and publish a dimension and then have someone on the internet shoot his home made reloads out of one while jerking the trigger over a stump and get a horrible result.
They are covered under STI's satisfaction guarantee, though - if it doesn't shoot good enough for you - we'll take it back. (less shipping costs, within a reasonable amount of time & so long as you don't mess with it, of course)
I have yet to hear anyone complain about these kit's accuracy.;)
