SCAR H and the "sniper" version with extended and adjustable stock

HK MR556 and MR308 - no price and date yet. The US version will be exactly the same as the German version, other than the muzzle threading.
Interesting tibit - the ugly HK stock and pistol grip are actually the doing of US end users, who want 1911 grip angle and a non-snagging sliding stock. It is not difficult to see why Troy is requested to make their Battle Axe stock in the same general configuration.
The HK MR series, at least the German version, is pressed into the receiver and the torqued down by the barrel nut to increase accuracy. The US version will have precision take down pins - they have to be tapped out with a tool by design to tighten the lower and upper fit.
The MR308 is sexy - with the 20 round magazine.

I handled the scar-L down here at a shop, price tag was $2899 if i remember correctly. Scar-H would be in that ball park I assume.

For those in GVA...Italian has an MR308 but that price tag of $4899 seems over-the-top.

Wow, that is quite a bit more than the $4199 at CGN sponsor CRAFM

They always seem to justify that with that explanation. I find them all friendly, but pricing on firearms is always MSRP or MSRP+.
I do support them on ammo and things that are fairly priced. I find reliable etc gets more of my money though.
I remember their SAN CQB upper for $2800 + tax in the fall. They basically said, thats the price - and you are saving money by getting this. Their SAN CQB was $3600 I think, with average new sales price of $3100ish in most other stores I think.

If it got exported with all the goodies, I'd be willing to pay that + the Canadian "tax" on top of it.
3500? Non restricted of course.
Looks like a good option for a SASS (Semi auto sniper system) in the future in Canada.

If that's the same CQB I was looking at they wouldn't budge below $2900...I probably would have taken it at $2800 (but I was trying for $2700 at their preXmas blowout).

Actually, yep - it was $2900... I did a lot of CQB research at the time, and ended up finding a like new one from Marstar... $2700 or $2800 I think.

Don't know if KevinB mentioned it or not when you were there, but one of the shorties (I think the one below the tan colored one pictured) is actually chambered in the 6x35mm PDW cartridge, numnumnum :D

You asked the wrong question. Try asking for the civilian S models, and not the select-fire military models.

yes the scar 16 is prohibited but the weapon that we would get in is the scar 16S for civilian sale and should just be restricted probably depending on barrel length.

I don't agree. The 16S and the 17S have not been classified prohibited. My understanding is that they are being reviewed and that a few dealers are looking to import them into Canada.
If they were prohibited, it would have shown up on this site the second it happened.
Think twice, write once.

I'm pretty sure the "clerk" answering the phones in Miramishi knows more about manicures then she does guns. She probably heard "FN" and immediately said prohib based on the FNFAL.
Questar IS BRINGING these in. If the barrel goes over 470mm it WILL be NON-restricted.

has FN seen the light regarding export models?
They hadnt 1 1/2 years ago when I asked this:
http://www.fnforum.net/fnh-q-a-july-14-2008-answered-t8469.html
To be prohib a SA firearm must be NAMED on list created in 1995, it cannot be modified or added to without an ammendment to the law by parliment (not the cfc or RCMP). The list has not been touched since 1995. The SCAR was not even a dirty dream in someones mind in 1995.:)
well the only SCAR rifles right now are full auto. guess why it says prohib.....
That makes sence if no SA models have been submitted yet.

I don't think so, you could always get the SR15 and rebarrel it with a Colt 11.5" IIRC KevinB said KAC uses Colt barrels don't quote me on it though.
