Navy Gunner put this review up elsewhere... Reposting here.
Over to Navy Gunner.....

I picked up a Thureon Defense 9mm carbine 19" non restricted from the good folks at Arms East today, thanks to Walter and Steve.
Carbine came with 1 10 round pistol mag, cable lock, parts list, instructions. The carbine setup I bought came with 2 short and 1 long rails to attach to the free float hand guard for whatever you want to attach. There are other configurations being brought in, please call Steve or Walter for more details.

Initial impressions that this a well made rifle and not a toy, it certainly has some heft to it. Grip looks like a standard AR type, as is the trigger group and buffer tube. the buffer tube is commercial. One thing I noticed was no FH,but I think that really no big deal.

Disassembly is relatively simple, come apart in 6 pieces. Fit and finish for the firearm is really nice, no rough machining marks evident, very solid and well made.

Can't wait to get up to the range and try it out with a optic and I will post a range review.

Pt 2 from Navy Gunner.....
Alright had a chance to bring the carbine to the range. Changed out the factory stock to a Magpul MOE commercial and fitted a Magpul AVG fore grip. I did this more to see if they would fit ok, the factory stock is fine. Didn’t have a real cheap optic for it so I fitted it with an Eotech off one of my AR’s. I’m sure any cheap red dot would be fine.

The gun was a pleasure to shoot. I shot at targets ranging from 25 yards, 50 yards to 100 yards with no problem hitting the target whatsoever. My buddy spotting for me was amazed that he could actually see the bullets hitting the targets at 100 yards. Groupings weren’t too bad and a lot of that was an optic that wasn’t dialed in entirely. This gun is pretty accurate.
Used a variety of ammo, ranging from Winchester to Wolf reloads to IVI SMG ammo. Fired about 300 rounds with no FTF or any other stoppages. The only problem I did have was the chamber was getting very dirty and I attributed that to the dirty IVI ammo I used. A little oil in the chamber fixed that. Mag was a little stiff to load at first, however easier over time. It is possible to jam more than 10 rounds in the mag, but the mag will not function in the gun.
I shot 10 rounds at 25 yards using the optic unsighted and I got this grouping on a birchwood casey target

I shot this at 50 yards figure 11 target.

This was at 100 yards

Trigger was pretty smooth, in the range of an AR and I believe these triggers can take a drop in kit if need be.
Short video of me shooting the rifle.

Post cleaning of the gun found that this gun gets dirty, however as most people do not shoot 300 rounds at a time or more it shouldn’t be that big of a problem.
The only really big problem I had was that I only had one mag, definitely recommend buying more than one mag for this gun. I imagine a UZI mag would be easy to modify for this gun.
Am I pleased with this gun? I have to say yes I am, I had tons of people come up to me on the range yesterday and they couldn’t believe it was non restricted and very AR like.
For a non restricted 9mm carbine with AR like qualities this is the gun for you. I highly recommend it and I probably will get one in .45.

I really liked the one I handled. Clean and simple, but well made. I'd definitely recommend the railed version though for maximum "AR-ness"

No problem Walter looking fwd to the release of the .45 ACP.
I have had the rifle since the summer and I still use it regularly, I would say over 1000 rounds fired with no problems. The mags are holding up quite nicely and broke in after about a couple of hundred rounds.
The rifle doesn't seem to get too dirty, much as any pistol.
I would say I am extremely satisfied with the rifle.

The TD9SA start at $875.
Back up sights (integrated into the upper receiver) are an $80 option.
The modular forearm and rails are a $140 option.

that is a respectable price for a NR 10 rounder AR looker. I will have to keep this one in mind when I am ready to purchase.

I saw a picture of a forward rail that gives a monolithic rail look. What is that option, is it available?

This rail. Yes, will be available with next shipment, including one for every rail in this shipment. The ones in the pictures and at the SHOT Show were made at our request. We have 1 here now as proof of concept, and the further rails are being made for us. Any Railed model in the future will have the full length 'rail height' available. These rails will also be made available to current TD9SA owners with the 'Gas Block' height rail.

OK I'm a newbie with this type of gun so I have to ask. Since this gun is non-restricted does it have special rules around the mag sizes. Are magazines limited to 10 rounds, or would it be legal to have a larger capacity magazine?
Since we are on that topic. Could someone tell me what the exact law is (I have been told that .22 rimfire is uncapped).
Thanks...

rimfires are uncapped. Any semi auto centerfire is limited to 5 rds, but theres a loophole in the law that lets you use 10rd pistol mags, anything more is prohib i believe

dangertree, do you think you could order a whack of firing pins from TD? I've heard them breaking from time to time, and they're proprietary. Would be nice to just order a few from you instead of having to deal with the manufacturer if something simple were to break down like that.
ETA early March? Did I miss out on the glock version? I'm seeing that your all out of stock., maybe you never got them? Are there more on the way coming? Looking for no sights with upgraded monolithic hand gaurd.

I also have the Thureon defense 9mm. Great feel and weight, no rough machining marks either. Unfortunatly for me. The firing pin broke just after 449 rounds. My best guess...... A faulty pin. Overall though I'm pretty happy with it..... And it's non restricted status:)

Funny the firing pin broke on Hickok 45's gun aswell:confused:

I'm sure they redesigned the pin by now. Just have to make them accessible to the public. That's usually easier through a Canadian dealer than it is for a USA manufacturer.

We did just get a whack of firing pins from TD. We always stock parts for rifles we distribute.
To the GA carbines, still on order and waiting.
