how much for that thing? $20,000? NO! wait, $30,000...... nah, I bet it's more like $35,000.... shorter barrel, less material, MUCH more expensive to produce.

Accuracy testing will be later on in the future, once we can get around to it, as there is a tremendous amount of things on the go at the moment... :)

If the price is anything like my first Gen LTR-3, might look at another one or an upgrade. Are these going to be in the $7500.. range ???

Probably a bit more than $8500......barrel costs the same, we just cut it shorter. The big brake is more $$ than the one we put on the standard rifle.

Yes it is the Cadex Strike .50 stock.

A lot of changes over a first gen LRT-3, those were single shot only and had a Big Mac fibreglass stock. The price of the repeater with the folding stock is $8500.

When the heck are you guys going to produce a semi-auto PGW 50? Now that would be sweet.....a semi auto with that 16.75" barrel, in that same chassis. I'd buy one "like" right now...:ar15:.

With the shorter barrel how will it work for bear defence since you lose some velocity :p

Better hit the gym hard while you're at it. That thing looks like a beast. I'm surprised the shooter in the vid was even able to hold it as long as he did.

It has not been asked, and I am pretty sure I know the answer, but just double checking... is this Non-restricted? Or restricted due to barrel length?
Cool none the less.

It's a bolt gun so barrel length isn't a factor for making restricted. Only way for a bolt gun to be restricted is if it is under 660mm OAL.

Probably the muzzle brake on the shorty, it looks like it weighs 10 pounds by itself! :D

Wally, do you spend all your time whining about how much things cost? V:I:
Back on topic...damn....if I had 10g's to blow on something completely frivolous this would be at the top of my list. That is way too cool.

First of all, I think it's cool you guys are designing more sweet products. Your company is a Canadian icon for sure!
But, I'm trying to figure out what this thing is useful for. If you're going to casterate the utility of the 50 BMG with a 17" barrel, what is there to gain versus a similar weiging .408 or .338LM? Was this designed as a result of something the forces are asking for?

There was no requirement by any customer that caused this rifle to be built this way. I screwed up a barrel which rendered it very short and destined for the scrap bin. Chris wanted to build it into a complete rifle for fun and this is what turned up.

Sweet. You should take some videos of shooting it without the brake on a high speed camera. Could be the sweetest muzzle blast we've seen since hollywood's latest.

have you guys run any numbers on the chrony with it? i would LOVE to see how a CQB 50 would do for velocity. This may end up providing some now opportunities.

I always wondered how much of these craze SASR' price was just brand markup, you know how Bentley motors add a cool $80,000 to the price of their cars because of the Bentley name or elitism, curious what these guns cost the manufacturer to research and make. The profit margin has to be at least 50-80% of the parts and build cost

Yes the Shorty still remains on the hefty side, the amount of barrel that was chopped off + our muzzle brake is almost equal to that of the Armalite brakes in weight... Which is around the 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 pound mark...
