I opened mine today to find the the area around the hole where the screw goes through to connect to the 10-22 frame is cracked, must of occurred when they drilled the hole...did not even get a chance to mount the rifle....

I emailed HICAL asking for a replacement or refund so lets see what happens.

Well, I got the new stock....same cracking around the hole, clearly a different stock by the pattern... I guess that is how they come since I got no explanation from HICAL? I do get free shipping on my next order though to cover my cost of sending the other back....Its not going to be a safe queen anyway.....

I would like to know this also, as I have a 16" CRR I would like to fit this to; Dave says "Over 26" with the 18.5 barrel", but how much over is it?
Will the 2.5" shorter barrel re-classify as restricted OAL ?

I am pretty sure it would be under 26". I know the butler creek folding stock is just barely over 26" with an 18" barrel.

Got my special order "straight back" today and couldn't be happier.

It's light but solid and the hogue grip feels great in the hand.

Thanks Dave, for putting up with all my emails...

    Will post some pictures soon.

My takedown model's OAL is 26 1/2" folded, with the 18 1/2" barrel.

A friend bought a straight one which I guess would be okay if you have a really tall scope. Otherwise it was uncomfortable to brace the stock next to my eye. I bought an angled one but it was way too low, luckily I'm a farmer so between my ingenuity and a fellow farmer's machining ability we were able to cobble together something pretty decent, a machine shop would probably charge a couple hundred dollars to do the work, it's more involved than it should be. Anyway, I bought a compact 10/22 and a Mare's Leg holster to go with it and now I have neat, legal, open carry gun...for when I'm out fixing fence.
