Don't argue with them about "it's company policy" or you might get thrown out of the store like I did yesterday when I was dropping off 2 items for the gunsmith. Unfortunately they're the only game in town anymore. I used to work for WSS for a number of years ago part time and I sure miss having them in town. At CSC if you're older and you're not talking "black guns" or pistols, I always get the feeling they're not interested.

When you do, ask for Devon Martin, he's a supervisor knows his stuff and is a pleasure to deal with!.....

Couldn't agree more. These guys are always profession and easy to deal with. Quick shipping when ordering online and the store itself is well organized and clean. Customer service is what really sticks in people's minds and keeps people coming back. Kudos.

I’m fortunate to live in Calgary, & have been a customer & range member for quite a few years. Every gun store has it’s own, unique “vibe”, some may suit you better than others. I’ve been a shooter since long before they ever existed; I think the first pistol I ever bought was back in the Western Armament & Guncraft days in the early 1970’s.
I’ve been a member at one point or another with every range in the Calgary area in the last 50 years or so. Out of necessity, I remained a member at a couple for more than a year, because there simply was no other place to shoot. CSC is different; I’ve been a member there for quite a while now, and there are a couple other options in town. The staff have been great; they aren’t a bunch of “cowboys”; they do carry lots of “Black guns”...that’s what the market wants today, and truthfully I own my share of them, in spite of being an old guy. I also love me some lever guns, and have a soft spot for revolvers, both modern and late 1800’s era...they have those too. I’ve never been shunned or ignored for asking questions about a bolt gun or a lever action...I don’t think anyone that has cannot be held more than a little responsible if they’ve been ignored.
They’re good folks. Sure, we’ve had a couple of minor differences of opinion; frankly it’s hard to believe they haven’t thrown my grouchy old ass out more than a couple times. They’ve listened when I’ve complained about something, and you can’t ask for a lot more.
It’s always nice to see competition, and I was sorry to see Wholesale disappear the way they did. But, as long as these guys are in business, I’ll likely keep shooting & buying from them.

I am also from Ontario, but lived a while ago in Calgary. I am buying from Calgary Shooting Center for multiple reasons: First: the guns they have in stock are nowhere else to be found (P210s, Manhurins, collectibles, etc.) Where else one can buy a MR73 and MR 88?. I was also looking at their X-5s, "the Violin"....Second: excellent communication and professional service when dealing with web orders. Kevin is number one! The tax there is LESS than in Ontario and when a gun costs thousands, you can feel this. Their shipping by Canpar is very reliable and it comes at your door when they say it'l come. They are overwhelmed now by online orders, but still a perfect service!
