Nice little rifle, but $780 + ship is too steep a price.

IMO the stock makes this rifle worth $100 more than a standard shorty, not $250 more...

$100 more for sure with just the plain jane Boyd's walnut stock. Check around for nicely figured wood and see what that will cost with just the stock and wooden handguard alone! $250 is probably a pretty good price!

I just put 2 Shorty M14's with walnut stocks and 1 shorty with black synthetic stock on the website.

I'm not going to run the back order notification program as there are 100's of people signed up and it will create chaos with only 3 guns.

Agreed. I would prefer to buy [imported] wooden stocks locally anyways. Also, it would allow me to dress any m1a/305 model respectively.
