He now posts on the other site, the name of which by the way has been censored here.

Look at member post counts. In the old days, the members with counts in the hundreds and thousands and who had been around for a couple years outnumbered the "newbies" and posted regularly. Now, if I see someone in a thread with a join date previous to 2011 or 2012 and a post count above 500 I'm honestly surprised. It's only when a long time dealer or member is involved in the thread when the "old guard" so to speak tend to make themselves known.

Heck, I rarely post outside of OT here anymore and my browsing of the other sub-forums takes about 10 minutes because there is not often something new. It's the same old topics being beaten to death and people arguing and name calling. The civility and community feeling of this site has degraded severely. Every now and then in the local gun shop or at the range CGN comes up in conversation, and more often than not I here people laugh and say something to the effect "yeah, nutz is a good name for the site". That is really too bad as this site was once a powerhouse and a place to be a part of the shooting community. I really enjoyed me first years here and I still like alot of the occasional posts the "older" members make. Unfortunately, this site doesn't offer much more than that and the raucous way it's run and managed make it difficult to stay for long. There are other sites for Canadian shooters that offer a more organized, community type atmosphere.

Anyways. Off the tangent, I don't think John and Marstar are leaving CGN solely because of the naysayers. I think they're leaving because of the dog eat dog, throw your fellow shooter under the bus mentality this site has become, both through it's membership and it's management.
Well said, and why I left nothing here for me but EE and a sad reminder every time I look at the forum pages

wrong , since you don't pay , the forum exist bcos dealers pays and he pays for the right to control (limited) his forum.

every forum that exist has moderators , even here the EE sections has moderators , everywhere but the dealers forum so you may troll there and get away with it .

Entitlement, common sense challenged posters on this site are certainly dragging it down; but entertaining.

John is a vet. A street smart importer of foreign/communist products is not going to be swayed by some internet naysayers. Whether he stays or goes is all about the business value.
Revolvers RULE; remember that next time you BEND over to pick up brass OR ejected brass pings off the precision gear.
Looking for a car pool buddy for weekly weekday trips from Burnaby to POCO. Better yet I'll drive weekly and you take me hunting.

Maybe he will have a "Leaving CGN sale"
Pre-orders are horrible for everyone involved. They never go smooth. We will not be doing a pre-order to bankroll this project.

With your permission I would like to review this case lest we leave the impression we do not care about our clients....

On December 12th 2013 you requested a total quote for your planned order....
On December the 13th you were sent quote #QT11101
On December 16th you authorized the order....
On December 16th your order #1N68130 entered the system....
On December 16th your order went out by UPS on waybill #CAN778-5-00 one carton, 129lbs

We understand that you received the parcel on December 23rd 2014 and noted the damage at that time.... You forwarded the information to Frank to have the matter looked into.
Unfortunately that was the same day we closed for the Christmas holidays.
Immediately upon reopening January 2-2014 we were in touch with UPS, BTW they do not move too quickly, I imagine they have a few claims after the Christmas holidays.
On January 7th you were in touch with our billing department, you were advised that we had filed a claim with UPS....
On January 20th you requested an update....
On January 21st we asked that you call UPS as they alleged that they had been trying to reach you. We provided you with the phone number and claim file number.
On January 20th-21st you exchange e mail and photos with the claim auditor at UPS.
It would seem that on January 22nd UPS dumped this back on Marstar and so advised you....
On January 30th you were advised they would not refund the shipping, this is inaccurate and incomplete....

UPS advised us that they were sending our account representative up to see us ASAP, that person only showed up last week.... So as you can see we have NOT forgotten you

Now that we have cleared up matters with UPS we will argue this out with them.

I have examine the pictures, I can assure you we do not send bullets out in plastic bags, nor do we break open the individual boxes, we do not use UPS tape to wrap the carton....We do not use yellow foam in our packing.
This tells me that someplace along the route the carton was dropped from quite a height, even the mag came out of it's wrap.

We will deal with UPS, now thew big question, what do you want ? We are prepared to have you return the bullets at our cost for an immediate replacement also at out cost....
OR if you are inclined to sort this lot we could offer you a deal.... Your choice.

    John

Based on John's original response to the original OP... this is someone who cares about customer satisfaction, and also seems to have their operational #### wired down tight.

Johnone FTW. Stick around a while John... some of us recognize one of our own.
