    How to Gain Access to the Equipment Exchange Forums (Rules & Guidelines)

    The Equipment Exchange (“EE”) forums are "use at your own risk" classifieds". CGN is not responsible for any losses and disputes related to transactions that are associated with these classifieds.

    The EE forums are intended for the listing of personal items that are non profit seeking - profit seeking activities are only allowed for paid business members [ie. Dealers]; Linking in any forms to other firearms sites, such as on-line classified and on-line auction sites, is not allowed. If you have posted your item in an auction site, you will not be allowed to post the same item in this forum.

    Trade related disputes originating from the Equipment Exchange forums or with CGN business members [ie. Dealers] shall not be discussed in the forums. All disputes and feedbacks should be confined to the trader rating feedback system and private messaging. See FAQ “Guidelines for using CGN feedback system”

    BASIC POSTING RULES

    Each entry to the EE must have an appropriate prefix: WTS [want to sell], WTT [want to trade] or WTB [want to buy] prefix;

    Each member is allowed 2 threads of WTS, 2 threads of WTB and 2 threads of WTT in each of the Equipment Exchange forums. When a thread is no longer valid, it is member’s own responsibility to edit the prefix to “Pls Remove”[click “edit” and then “go advanced”, from there the member can edit the ad prefix, title and text]. To remove an old thread from the limit count, you must change the pre-fix to “Pls Remove”;

    An item can only be posted ONCE in the entire Equipment Exchange. It must be posted in the most applicable EE forum or sub-forum for which the item in your current possession belongs. [ie. If you wish to buy [WTB] a handgun, wish to sell [WTS] a handgun, or wish to trade [WTT] a handgun for a shotgun, it must be posted in the Exchange of Pistols & Revolvers];

    If an item is offered for sale or trade, it should be posted as a WTS. A WTT entry cannot contain offer to sell;

    All items listed for sale [WTS] must include a basic asking price. This is not an auction/bidding site. No links to off-site auctions are permitted. "Make an offer" type ads with no listed base price are not acceptable, and may be deleted without notice;

    Want to trade [WTT] ads must not offer cash sale. The entry must list the specific item(s) being sought for trade. Entry will be removed without notification if it is not in compliance to the guideline;

    Only the originator of a thread can reply to his/her own thread. Members should contact each other using private messaging Members may edit prefix,title & text as required by using the “edit” and “go advanced” [advanced edit] features available to them. Moderators may edit entry as seen fit;

    All items posted must belong to the posting member. There will be no “posting, listing, selling or trading for a friend”. Members selling or trading on the EE are fully responsible for the entries made under their accounts, including but not limited to advertised condition, transfer & shipping arrangements, as the case may be. All items offered for sale or trade must be in the possession of the member posting the ad or the ad must clearly state the circumstances otherwise.

    All items listed for sale [WTS] or trade [WTT] must include an accurate description of the item at the time it is listed for sale or trade. Members may consider the NRA grading system for “condition” when describing items for sale or trade in the EE.

    Descriptions of all items must be factual. All pictures posted must be the original pictures of the items owned by the sellers. Sales pitches based on assumption, rumours , unsubstantiated claims or anything that are deemed to be unethical by CGN will be removed. CGN reserves the right to infract or/and remove accounts who violate this clause.

    If you are including pictures in your ad the maximum image/picture size allowable is 1024x768 pixels. Entries with pictures in excess of the allowable picture size will be removed moderators without notification;

    EDITING, BUMPING AND REMOVING POSTINGS

    Members may "bump" or bring their thread "back-to-the-top" [aka BTT] of the EE forum page where seven (7) days have elapsed since the last posting made to the thread, by simply making a posting to the existing thread. The EE has a built in default that will not allow an existing thread to be BTT’d within 7 days of the last posting made to the thread.

    Whereas a member can edit his/her own EE ad to change the ad prefix, title or text a member cannot “move” an existing EE posting from one EE forum to another. This can only be done by a moderator. If you want an EE ad “moved” send a PM [personal message] to an EE moderator. Then wait for your ad to be moved. It will be the moderator’s discretion as to whether an ad move is appropriate. Do not edit your ad to “delete” [ie. Pls Remove] then repost a “new” ad in another EE forum to “move” it.

    If your item has been sold/found or a deal is pending, you may edit your thread title to “SPF” [sold pending funds] or “deal pending” etc if you do not wish to remove the thread yet.
    To remove a thread that is no longer needed, change prefix to [Pls Remove] by clicking [Advanced Edit]. A thread is counted towards the maximum allowed limit ( 2 WTS, 2WTB and 2 WTT] until its prefix is changed to [Pls Remove]

    DISALLOWED ITEMS IN EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE

    Any imitation or "knock-offs" with infringement of copyrighted wordings or markings in any forms are disallowed. Imitations, commonly known as knock-offs, cannot be advertised with reference to the wordings, trade names or model names of the real items they are imitating. Pictures of real items are not allowed to be displayed in the sale advertisements of any imitations or "knock-offs
    Illegal or questionable items are disallowed. Questionable items include, but are not limited to:
    Homemade firearms;
    Magazine Kits;
    80%" or partially completed receivers or receiver stampings;
    Stolen government properties and items of questionable origin are disallowed. These include any DND equipment items, which have not been released to the general public for sale. It is the responsibility of the posters to prove the legitimacy of the items. Sale of stolen goods will result in a permanent ban from CGN without warning. CGN has discretion of not allowing items that it deems to be risky at moderators’ or Administrator’s discretion;

    Fully assembled, non-commercially produced ammunition (including “home reloads”) is disallowed.

    Tobacco and alcohol are disallowed;

    Airsoft guns are only allowed when their receivers are made of either transparent or brightly coloured plastics. The receivers must not be painted to cover the transparency or bright colour;

    Making reference to, such as by listing the URL, of a solicitation that is located outside of the www.canadiangunnutz.com forums. For example, linking or posting the URL of an advertisement in Ebay or Kijiji;

    Estate sales are disallowed without written declaration, unless it is performed for wife, husband, sons, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandsons and granddaughter. For all others, CGN must receive written declaration from the executor or whoever that is authorized to dispose of the estate, that the seller is authorized to dispose of the estates on the behalf of those who are in charge of the estate. The declaration must also clearly indicate that the seller is not to be profiting or charging "management fee". Paid business members are exempted from this requirement. Any estate disposition with profit will be classified as business activity that falls under "Policy for Advertising at www.Canadiangunnutz.com"

    ENFORCEMENT

    Any attempt to induce an early [sub 7 day] BTT of your item by posting it in a new ad in that or any other EE forum and remove the earlier ad [by editing the ad prefix, title or text in attempt to obscure it] either before or after posting the new ad, you may be cited, at the discretion of a moderator, with a “cheating BTT” infraction. This comes with 5 infraction points and a minimum of 60 days suspension from the EE.

    Reposting the same item(s) included in a deleted thread within 7 days of the last posting date of the deleted thread will be considered cheating the rules intentionally. Loss of EE access could result.

    Equipment Exchange moderators have the discretion to issue warnings or infraction points for EE rule violations as the case may be. Please be advised that it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that all postings placed are within the EE posting rules. Continued violations of the EE posting rules may lead to temporary or permanent suspension of EE posting privileges at the discretion of CGN Admin.

    Each EE rule violation is worth 1 point and has a life span of 45 days. When 5 points are accumulated, an automatic suspension from the EE forums will be imposed by the system. For example, a user is given the first infraction that expires in 45 days. 5 days later this user is given another infraction. Since the user already had an infraction, this new infraction's expiration time is added to the end time of the previous infraction for a total of 95 days. The suspension will not expire until there are no longer 5 non-expired infraction points.

    When a member has a number of infractions, both current and expired, more than or equal to 10, moderator has the discretion to issue a 5 point infraction that results in suspension from EE for 30 days. When the number of infraction, both current and expired, reaches 15, moderator has the discretion to issue a 5 point infraction that results in suspension from EE for 60 days.
