    Got my Chinese SKS

    Thanks Marstar,

I got my Chinese SKS today, Mid production. My god that thing was covered in cosmoline eh? beautiful no issues.

It has the short barrel lug and stamped trigger group.

has the 0306 factory code(triangle no numbers), no Chinese markings and a 6 - xxxxxx (7 numbers) can't figure it out.

Still waiting on mine. Possible lag time from the rush of orders.

    "Shoot it," said my attorney.
"Not yet," I said. "I want to study its habits.

I got mine 3 years ago with the 1440 rounds. I now have over 3000 rounds fired through it, and it is still as good as the day i got it. I now have a second. I also have 2 soviet sks's. The chinese military blows them away. It is accurate and tight as hell. couldn't ask for more. Definitely one of my favorite guns. Have fun with yours.

I agree. I have a couple of both, and the Chinese ones are much more accurate than the Soviet ones. I didn't like the stock on it compared to the Soviet ones, but everything is is better in my humble opinion.
I am sure others have had the opposite experience, this is just my opinion.

Yep, got mine. Haven't had time to clean it up yet but played with the action and it was tight and smooth. Looking forward to taking her to the range this weekend.

I got mine too and while I'm happy I have an SKS again, I'm a bit disappointed. The gas tube wood doesn't really match the rest of the stock, which is why I got rid of my other SKS.

now, I bought a Russian SKS from Lever Arms, when they first came in 5 or so years ago. I didn't have cosmoline...and this Chinese...holy cosmoline Batman!

I think I'm going to have to bake my rifle for several days, LOL!!!

I just got the Ammo through Canpar and am still waiting the SKS's to arrive. I'm SHOCKED at the shipping cost. $158.45 for 2 SKS rifle/ammo combos. The $75 dollar SKS kinda losses its appeal after that gets tacked on the bill. I've never paid so much for shipping that wasn't a truck engine.

Gratitude to Marstar, a little added indifference towards Canpar.

I decided to get my ammo from TradeExcanada because of the free shipping on the ammo, 250 after tax from them plus the 250 for this, ended up being 500ish all told
