We should have our first XCR-M with keymod here next week, we can weigh them then.

New XCR-M Light barrel with Key mod receiver

The standard XCR-M (.308) with the four rail receiver and heavy 18.6 inch barrel weighed 10.5 lb. With the light barrel and Key mod receiver weight is reduced by 2 .25 lb to 8.2 lb.

Thanks for the weights on both rifles guys. Very tempting indeed. Just have to decide if I'm waiting for the CZ958 or going for one of the XCR models... Decisions, decisions. It's really difficult to sort fact from fiction when researching the XCR accuracy from the internet. Otherwise, the XCR really does seem like a great semi-auto rifle platform.

Just curious...and maybe Mr. Wolverine can chime in, but does anyone know if you can/what is required to update a quad-rail version to a Keymod upper?

You can order a stripped keymod upper and lightweight barrel separately if you want to make the change

If you are trying to save weight... I think going from heavy barrel to light barrel save more weight.
    What?

What is the weight difference between an xcr l keymod with heavy and light barrels? I've almost convinced myself of getting one in 7.62x39 and a 556 conversion or additional upper. I like the idea of a heavy barrel to hold up to heat in tac matches, but I'm really concerned with weight and balance. I had an older Gen quad rail and fast stock but it was way too unbalanced and front heavy for me.
