I don't need anything but do highly recommend Petzl gear.

A great line if you can get it.

Petzl and Black Diamond a must.

I would get enough gear that someone could come to you shop and get a full gym setup and a full sport climbing setup. So: Harnesses, big locking belay biners (Petzl DM is great) and tube style belay devices (BD ATC is popular for a good reason.) Selection of quick draws, webbing and oval locking biners to make an anchor off bolts, chalk and chalk bag, rope, rope tarp. Really all you need to sport climb.

Biggest thing I can see missing are tube style belay/rap devices, much prefered over figure 8 style for gym and sport climbing. The figure 8 twists the rope and wears rope faster than a tube style device. The advantage of a figure 8 is they work easier with frozen ropes and are easier to load with gloves on, meaning they are often seen in the alpine. I personally use my ATC guide all year ice climbing and don't find an issue with it, but generally the figure 8 is prefered with frozen ropes.

Only thing I may need in the future, if I decide to get a SRT setup, is a Petzl STOP, which is popular for caving, but is rarely stocked in climbing shops.

Thanks for the info Cam. Good things to know for the sport side.

We carry a lot of the SBG's, figure 8's, figure 9's and other item etc for Military/LE applications.

Too bad Alien cams are no longer available or at least near impossible to find. You couldn't beat those for how low profile they were and build quality.

What about captive eye carabiners and eye and eye cords (the short ones for prusik or distels or Schwabisch )
