Pebbles or Pearls? We will let the CGN readers make up their own mind, but for the record:

The power of advertising products and business in social media today is incredible and cannot be under rated! No business can afford to ignore any negative comment, perceived or real, about itself or product.

When a customer has a problem we like to hear about it first so we can correct it, we like faulty products returned so we can report issues back to manufactures in order to affect improvements.

For example: I recently received a very polite e-mail from a customer saying that the safety on his DD carbine was not working, this e-mail was complete with a little video. I determined that the safety detent and spring was missing. I pointed out that this was easily lost if the grip was changed. Customer said he had changed the grip. I mailed the customer a replacement spring and detent, at no charge. I received I nice little thank you, everyone is happy, life is good.

Back to this case, it is generally accepted that in all magazine fed semi auto firearms 50% of failures to feed can be attributed to the magazine. Based on customer feedback we have received, the E-Lander 1911 mags are having a 1% reported failure rate. Could half of these failures be attributed to the gun? I have no idea. I do know that the 1911 pattern semi auto, Colt or clone, is capable of 99.999999999% reliability when fed correct ammo from good mags.

QC issues? Again based on customer feedback after selling several hundred of these mags we have seen less than 1% incorrectly notched at the rear. We have reported this to E-Lander who were most embarrassed and will make every effort to see that it doesn’t happen again. Not sure why the OP eludes to 50% at fault.

The OP’s video clearly shows a first rd failure to feed. This is not acceptable in a 1911, even if it is a clone, rather than a Colt. I recently saw this with a $6,000.00 1911 type pistol, using the mags that were supplied by the factory, even I thought this gun was a piece of c--- so I will not mention the manufacture. In any event I simply polished the feed ramp and solved the problem. With this case it has already been pointed out it could be caused by the spring nose incorrectly posited. This mag could also be that odd 1% that simply will not work in this gun, in which case we would replace it, or it may be a gun problem, I don’t know and I am not saying the gun is at fault.

Pebbles or Pearls? I must admit to a marketing error, had we priced them as Pearls rather than Pebbles, I think the perception would be that these are quality mags, as for been a piece of C---, I don’t think so, but then I am biased.
