    SKS brakes

    Hi everyone!!

I was checking out Marstar's website and saw these brakes:

    http://www.marstar.ca/dynamic/category.jsp?catid=74891

    Has anyone tried them?

I want to eliminate/decrease muzzle rise, I don't care about recoil as I think it is not significant in a SKS.

    Thanks!!!!!

Listen, and understand. That Liberal is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse- only fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your guns are gone.

They do not work. DECORATION ONLY FULL STOP.

In order for a brake to work, the bore must be about .004" over bore size. These things have a bore size of about .400 to allow for the bullet clearing the crake when it doesn't fit exactly as it should. At least the ones that I had did. I had a pin on, which fell off after about 3 shots requiring me to make a new front sight pin, and a twist on, which came off in about 6 shots. Dangerous and ineffective to boot. The clamp on ones might not come off, but they're still way overbore and do not really function as a brake should.

I have the pin on as well and they will come lose if you you don't crank them on. Mine has been going strong for awhile now.

I have seen people shoot off a lose muzzle break at the range.

Always check the muzzle break before use.

Why do you need a brake on a 7.62x39?
Insert list of guns you own here:
(Who needs a registry if everyone advertises what they own)

    Quick follow-up shots.

"Not yet," I said. "I want to study its habits.

If you really want a break for anything other than looks than buy a 30. Cal break and get a gunsmith to thread the end of your barrel for it anything else is not worth your time or money
