I brought my new to me Alaskan scout and let the guys run it...


And tried it on a 1/2 pound charge...



No boom This was a 225gr at 1400+fps

Very nice quality. Miles above my rossi ranch hand, amost as nice as my Winchester! Beveled feed on the breech. The elevator sight is slightly flimsier than the one on my Winchester but by no means cheap. I like the sights, it's square front and rear notch like a handgun. Takedown is solid. Rubber coated wood is very nice! As well as light. Has no tang saftey, it has the half cock position.
All in all it's a beautiful gun and if 16's come out I'll be real tempted to get one. (This ones my dads)

Hey guys. Emailed Wanstalls a couple of weeks ago asking them the same thing and they said they expect another batch of these guns to come in sometime this fall. I believe they also said they would be in 44 mag, but don't quote me on that.

A friend of mine wants the .44 stainless for sure, I might bite also but still may hold out for the bigger bangers!
