Make one in 30-30 and I'd buy two - good thing about NWO is you don't have to worry about grizzly or brown bears...
Not sure what the attraction is to 45-70?
The cartridge is way too long for amount of powder it holds.
Sure it looks impressive. But it's mostly just empty brass.
.454-Casull with a 12" Barrel would be ideal.
Just shot my 44 today for the first time.
I would buy another in a suitable caliber.

Just do a google search and type in .454 vs 45-70 and you will see the obvious differences. The .454 runs out of powder room to compete with the 45-70 in both velocity and fps.
You can also build up and hand load hotter custom loads with the 45-70. With the .454 you are limited to much less power
45-70 level 2 reloads are more powerful than a 454
Why not getting the Alaskan in 454 with 12" barrel and the Kodiak in 45-70 in a 16"barrel.
The Kodiak already exists.
The 454 doesn't, but they have a 45LC, maybe it could be tested for 454.
Guys, it's very early, but there is a 12" .45-70 in the works.
I'll post some pictures once they become available.
Thanks,
