YES!!! One guy a friend of a friend last I heard had 3 out of 4 sheep for his grandslam and a big grizzly with 160 gr.Nosler partition out of his .270 and not .270wsm. I have 2 .270's with one Remington made in 1948 that shoots well!!!

Aside from the caliber difference, shiny rifle barrels don't help

I had a bit of trouble deciding actually.

The Kimber has sleeker lines as the Steyr stock just behind the grip area looks clunky. The Kimber camo pattern sucks too though.

It was a bit unfair to pit two different calibers against one another, especially if they each could be had in the same caliber. I owned a .270 many years ago but never a .308 (I've got a 30-06 instead). So for variety, I'd probably lean towards the .270 now (with a different paint job).

The Steyr would be the choice for anticipated quality.

I voted for the Kimber by a hair.

After seeing my friends 14yr old daughter do a 2'' group at 300yds when shooting a Steyr in 243 for the first time......sold on steyr
Plus the Steyr is much more affordable and all have a reputation for being shooters.....Kimber on the other hand seem to be hit and miss
    from one to another

I just sold a Kimber Montana in .338 Fed.... I'm seriously regretting it. At 5.5 pounds, plus I put a 1.5-4.5 Nikon Monarch on it... It was light and tight. So much so that the sling just seemed to be in the way. I just one hand carry'ed. While the Steyr will be a great product, it's just a normal rifle. It's heavy, bulky and if you bush hunt... it's no cooler than any other heavy beast. And I'll hear "bla bla bla 7.7 pounds isnt heavy bla bla bla man up". Well, since then my lightest was my Blaser at 6.5 pounds plus a 3-9... it's not as nice to carry. So I bought a Savage Light Weight in a longer range caliber, and put the same scope on. I missed the light rifle that much....

I agree though, go .308 so it's short action, drop it to 5 pds, and THAT'S a rifle for bush or mountain carry!

The Steyr isn't "cool". It's just a heavy rifle like all the rest, with a better than normal trigger. And my Kimber had a damn nice trigger as well....
The problem with Socialism is.... you can vote yourself into it. But you have to shoot yourself out of it.

    #WEXIT. Because it’s 2022.

How about a "Progressive Sale" on each of these!......
    That'd settle things.
