    An Ironic Ending

    .
I live within a half-hours drive of Wolverine Supplies and when in Virden, I try to drop in to see what new goodies are available. Last month, when Wolverine had their open house, they had, along with some very good prices on merchandise, many different types of firearms available to try out on the range for a modest sum of money.

I wanted to try out one of the Accuracy International Sniper rifles, and for a $5 piece of paper, was able to have five rounds of ammunition to play with. I was quite impressed by the accuracy of this rifle.

Before going onto the range, I signed in and was given a draw ticket, along with a coffee and a donut (which, considering my size, I really needed. ) When I was looking over stuff in a display case, I spotted a pair of Hensoldt Military binoculars, at a reasonable price. So reasonable that I bought them.

WIth our flood conditions here in Manitoba, I had not been able to get to Wolverine for over a month. Due to the necessity of changing a cell phone for one that works in the rural Manitoba area, ( a Virgin Mobile one purchased in Ontario only works in Brandon and Winnipeg,) the phone number I wrote on the sign-in sheet was not available. However, Guy managed to communicate that I had won a Door Prize and should pick it up.

Finally, on Saturday, the Rural Municipality finally got around to fixing the wash out at the Creek. Whoopee - the road to Wolverine and the Range is now open. Since I had about a half dozen rifles I wanted to shoot, and one of those rare no wind Manitoba days, it was a GO.

Upon walking into Wolverine, one of the staff there brought out a gift bag with a hat and t-shirt partially exposed. Great! The hat is adjustable and will fit, but the usually T-shirt size given out is a Bangladesh extra small marked "extra large." My t-shirts are custom made by Omar the Tentmaker.

Upon looking inside, I got a very pleasant surprise. A box containing a new pair of Vortex Diamondback 10x42 binoculars, a binocular body harness, optics cleaning kit, and other small and sundry items. Now, the question was, what do I do with another pair of binoculars when I have one of the best makes (Hensoldt ) bought a month before.

Well, I decided to compare the two. I have to say that I am VERY impressed with the Vortex binoculars. The brightness, clarity, and well thought out features are something else, and looking them up on the Internet, it was of the mind of "How can they produce these for that low price?" A day of using them over a few fields loaded with Gophers gave me a chance to evaluate them a bit more. I will say that these binoculars are going to be a constant companion on my hunts from now on. No, Grumpy. You are definitely NOT getting these ones back! A lifetime, almost no-fault warranty they come with is something else too.

So, I would definitely recommend these Vortex Binoculars. I see that Wolverine has the 10x50 Vortex binos in stock, and these might be even better than the 10x42 ones.

Anyways, thanks Wolverine for the Open House or "Wolverine Day" as it is being referred to. Definitely keep it up.

P.S. Anyone looking for a good K-31 Swiss rifle ----Wolverine had four of them (now THREE as one left with me), that are in very nice shape. A few marks on the butt stock, but not the usual Beaver attacked ones we normally see.

Be Warned! If you bother me, I can make it to the front gate in 3.2 seconds. Can you do it in 3.1?

Hey I guess it wouldn't matter if I said I had licked them first?

The Vortex optics are a fantastic value for dollar product and have become one of my personal favourites.

Yup. The scopes are the same. Lotsa bang for the buck.
The problem with Socialism is.... you can vote yourself into it. But you have to shoot yourself out of it.

    #WEXIT. Because it’s 2022.
