Not sure if the announcement clears things up for now, or for after the Bill is law? Anyone know?
A free society must outlaw harming innocent people to function, but when we seek to curtail what all of us can do, rather than holding each of us responsible for what we actually do, we give up on freedom itself.
What great news that in a world where there only seems to be diminishing gun rights everywhere the only way to increase ones gun rights is to move to a more gun friendly jurisdiction, this is finally a step to increase gun rights where we live. And great language to hear that it's a "right" to own firearms. This may be the first time I write to my elected officials to really encourage and support this attitude and direction.
I am sure looking forward to taking my 858 to the range, but I'm still a little hesitant without some official paperwork. I could just see an uninformed police officer pulling me over and making my life a lot harder than I want.
"He stated that in the new upcoming bill, that it will be permanently addressed with the section about curtailing the RCMP's ability to reclassify etc."
