Its only 10 inches wide. I'm tall and skinny and don't really notice it. Some people like to hang the plate higher or lower than others. I haven't really decided on the optimum adjustment yet. I'm waiting until it gets colder and need heavier clothes. I notice the weight more than anything, its 10 pounds heavier than my Lev II

I received my plates and carrier today , both very nice !! I'm 5'10" and don't notice the square shape at all. Even tried shouldering different rifles on strong and tried weak side transitions with no interference from the square cut. No different than my rigid shooter cut plates... I am built abnormally wide tho but both plates and carrier are very comfortable.

thanks for the good posts guys
good info for those looking that are not in the know.
The shooters cut is ideal, but not "needed" per say.
we will be working on shooters cut as well, but we have a lot going on at the moment inc, me moving.

I just tried my plates in my condor plate carrier. The rear plate fits easily and the front fits fine, but is a little snug.
The front pocket is meant to hold a clipped corner plate. Hope that helps.
The carrier is quite comfortable , shoulder padding distributes the weight nicely. I have other carriers that are way more expensive and don't really fit much better at all.
As mentioned I don't notice the corners not being clipped at all.
