Such a basic question that anyone who has done some research into firearms ownership would have known the answer.
I am curious as to why the newbie asked the question when there is a boatload of information here on this web site and the RCMP web site pertaining to firearms ownership.

I have browsed through years worth of CGN posts, I have yet to find a single one that points to or quotes a single piece of written firearms act or criminal code section that definitively states you cannot.

All I have seen are:
(1) Assumptions based on ATT transportation reg
(2) Or second/third hand statements, or just opinions
(3) Or what might law enforcement agencies choose to do to you

For the purpose of furthering the knowledge base of the firearms community,
I would really like to see a definitive legal answer on this topic,
WITHOUT referring to (1), (2) or (3)

So if I buy a restricted rifle I can only shoot on the range. I thought is was just handguns but then I never shot a restricted rifle

Did you actually pass your RPAL course? All restricteds are treated the same way. Handgun to AR and all in between.

It was for one of his videos. I think he brought out his Famae Mini SAF or something like that, and a bunch of people promptly had seizures over the fact that he was "shooting" a restricted firearm on crown land.
