Believe it or not the very first AR's had a 1:14 twist! They quickly upped it to 1:12 during trials and development.
1:12 AR barrels will fire 55gr (originally the M193 FMJ military cartridge) very very well and up to 62gr.
However that's not the rule! My 1:12 will shoot 62gr as well as 55gr out to 100 meters. Probably not much further.
Some 1:12 barrels will be key holing 62gr projectiles at 50 meters!
It's not just the weight of the bullet, the length of the projectile factors into the twist ratio as well.
Some barrel will shoot heavier bullets fine while the next one won't, it's very strange but such is the science of ballistics lol
I can get 2-3" groups at 100 meters or so with MFS FMJ 55gr with my A1 clone 1:12 pencil barrel using the irons if I'm switched on that day lol
Guns only have two natural enemies; politicians and rust.
Have you tried a .22lr adapter in it Travis?
Had one of these a few years ago, pretty well made and I paid a lot more for mine!!!

PAL is required for all ammo/firearms sales immediately after buyer states "I'll take it". Failure to do so will result in the loss of your first to claim it position. Shipping insurance is extra and must be requested.
