How could a person NOT afford to own one at these prices?
What they hey! how did I miss these?
This will replace the decked out norinco I sadly had to sell last year.
Cant wait for it to get here!! This will be my first AR platform rifle ....
CSSA / CCFR / CPC (almost to the point of walking away)
Sadly I missed seeing this in time...
No retreat,No surrender
I have not seen one of these carbines in person but based on photos the front sight protrudes through what appears to be a one piece 12" rail.
If this is true how do they assemble this?
The only way that occurs to me is to attach the barrel to the upper receiver, then insert the barrel into the rail without the front sight, passing it through the front sight which is placed through the opening in the top of the rail, then attach the rail to the barrel nut and finally pin the front sight.
I am not a gunsmith, armorer or designer, nor do I play one on TV, and did not I stay at a Holiday Inn last night, but this seems awkward for initial assembly (although I am sure the manufacturer would have jigs and tools to make it fast and easy) but much more so if dis-assembly is ever required by Joe Gunutz in his basement.
Something such as replacing the gas tube that is relaitvely simple on a carbine with regular handguards would seem to require removing the front sight on the DD M4 V1.

The Omega X rail is a 2 piece rail. You can google Omega X 12.0 FSP and read up on it and / or watch youtube install videos.
You do need a DD wrench for their proprietary barrel nut to remove/install. But only if you have to take off the barrel, not to remove the rail.
