Heh, heh, i feel the love! ....

All joking aside - Kate really is getting good at laying her mitts on this stuff ...

A couple of people PM'd me about this Federal Lake City 5.56 NATO 62gr 'Green Tips' ammo.

This is NOT match ammo, this is the ammo our NATO forces use. I am using this round in my SANS 551 & 553 and shoot steel targets that are roughly 8" x 11" out to 300m. Sometimes I even hit them ....

Here are two videos off of YouTube that may give people a clearer picture of how this ammo is made and what it can do.

Note that the steel penetrator in the projectile is one of the main things that limits this ammo's accuracy. The penetrator may not be perfectly centered inside of the projectile, ergo the accuracy suffers to some extent.

Hope this answers a few people questions ...

Watching videos of surgery often makes me feel a bit faint, but we all appreciate you destroying one of these rounds so that we don't have to! Thanks Abby

NATO forces is pretty vague. It is not what is used by North American Militaries. Or the Brits, or the Aussies, or the Poles, or the Danes.

I picked up a can from sfrc. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but the brass is gorgeous.
