Those are sharps not spencers in those movies. The spencer was never a rifle in main stream use in the movies until the unforgiven. You might see one in the background hanging on the wall etc or leaning up against something but I can't think of any movies that a main or supporting character carried one.

How about a TV series from 1959 that used a Mason Richards conversion of an 1860 Colt Army in the first show?
only ran 2 years and he also used a sawed off double barrel percussion shotgun.

You got the first name right, and it was also on Thursday night but on ABC.
Next hint, Dan Blocker appeared in the first show as the bad guy.

Mal's revolver is a Taurus Model 85 done up a bit. Longer barrel and a shroud around the cylinder.

There was a few other revolvers in the movie/Tv shows but didn't have anything done to them.

The Rebel....great series and great concept for it's time really. I'm going to have to dig out those episodes and watch them again.

No takers for my easier questions.

"Third Reich issued" firearms appearing in the original Star Wars triology:

The ones that there is no real debate on:

    Sturmgewehr 44:

    MG34:

    MG15:

    C96 Mauser:

Weapons that were issued to the Volkssturm:

(Cut down) No. 1 Mk. III Enfield:

    Lewis Machine Gun:

"not counting Jayne Cobb's LeMat revolver mentioned in this thread, or any of the other Firefly/Serenity revolver mock-ups, name three other examples where a revolver was modified to look futuristic for a film or television production."

Blade Runner (1982) - A Charter Arms Bulldog with a Steyr bolt action stuck on top!! Looks great in the film. Looks weird if you focus on a still:

Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009) - 686 in a futuristic shell. Is one of the many things about BnG which is a tribute to Blade Runner.

Looper (2012) - Mateba revolver. Possibily unmodified.

Dan Blocker, I remember when he passed away, I was completely devastated that "Hoss" had died.
