    TT33 Russian Tokarev

I tried searching but i couldn't find anything.
What is the difference between the pre war and the post war pistols?
They look the same, have the same accessories, and cost the same.

perhaps post war guns had better quality control, or vise versa. though i doubt it
there no significant differences that i'm aware of between pre and post war.
just comes down to what number you would prefer on your gun I guess.

The style of the slide serrations as far as I know. Pre are more cupped and post are closer spaced grooves.

As mentioned, just the slide serrations are different....post war will have better fit and finish then wartime produced, and generally be in better condition having seen less use.
It's getting a little bit Sunday around here.....

One was made before the war, and the other made after the war ended... ;-)
    Sorry... couldn't resist

Slide serrations are the only cosmetic difference that I know of

Some people that collect pre/during war and others collect post war items...
If you know how many guns you have... you don't have enough

Wartime pistols were made by 12 year old boys (I've seen the footage), and have different slide serrations. Post war guns were probably made by adults. Probably.

Is there not also a difference in the hammer, a slight bump to help stop firing pin drag?

Different style of grips as well, most wartime were made of wood.

not exacly on topic, but if your thinking of buying, get one of the Polish unissued ones(IMO). I had problems with a couple of Russian older models, but the Polish one goes bam every time. Just put a muzzle brake on it. I love the Tokarev. Can't wait to get it out to the range with my cz52.
