A 3 inch group @ 100m with Irons is pretty good out of any gun.
Well imo it all depends on ammo, you can have a gun shoot 4-5 moa with some ammo and 1 moa with the other. You can't really say a gun as crappy accuracy unless you tryd diffrent bullet weight, bullet type and brand.

On another note yes it's more complicated to make a good solide feeling action with a double stack mag; so I suspect that ruger were not able to make there m77 action and mini 14 mag work. But to me the fact that is proprietary mag would make me very weary of uying this gun if I was in the market for such a thing.

    Awesome looking gun though…
I shot my buddy's Scout rifle with a 3-9X scope. I put 3 rounds of Federal FMJ into .6" at 100 yards. No complaints at all.

    Different barrel length.

It would be nice if Ruger would make a 7.62x39 stainless steel version that excepts mini 30 mags.

Aside from a fairly substantial weight gain, how would this stack up against a shorty M305 for roughly half the cost (Less if factoring optics)?

Makes the Mossberg MVP patrol the obvious choice in my opinion.
What?!! The Mossberg MVP is nowhere even close to being in the same class as these. Not even CLOSE!

good luck finding one in 308, Mossberg mvp patrol in 308 is like a ghost, prophet river couldn't even find me one, but it takes m14 mags so obvious choice over the ruger.
If Canada banned guns in 1812 and it was not for armed volunteers we would be saying the pledge of allegiance right now. Call me a true Canadian but I believe the annual day we burned the white house down should be a paid holiday.

Fit and finish and accuracy. Had a couple guys wanting to sell me their MVP's so they could get something better after they had tried them. I have shot and handled them side by side and the Mossberg shot worse and felt like a tinker toy by comparison. My opinion only of course. YMMV.
