    Berdan Primers

Has anyone tried reloading 7.5x55 Swiss with Dominion Berdan Primers yet?

I was hoping someone would have had an answer, as this is of interest to me also.

No one out there reloads with the above mentioned primers?

I've never bothered as removal of berdan primers is a royal pain. Do let us know when you give you up and by brass ready prepped for boxer though!

    Yay, an answer at least!

I've been saving the brass, but that makes it sound like it's not worth it(?)

DO NOT USE THOSE PRIMERS! (no offence intended to Canada Ammo!)

The Dominion Berdan primers are much shallower than the Standard NATO Berdan primers. They are intended for reloading 7.62x39 only!

I bought 2,000 from Canada Ammo thinking that they would work. They are the right diameter but much too shallow. They are also very thin brass. I tried a few to see what would happen and the charge was blowing a hole right through the primer where the firing pin had struck.
So, I started researching Berdan primers and discovered that the GP11 cartridge uses Berdan 7.62 Standard NATO primers.
Others both make these. The other are more readily available and cost $31 less per thousand...
I am now using the other primers which I purchased from another supplier

The other are a double-walled design (hard military type primer) and they work great with GP11 reloads.

Now, if I could only get the PRVI B-345 bullets...
