we have tested these ourselfs both the gen 1 and the gen 2 the gen one is a great product , but I can see how some have broke then in the past , if you go all Chris Costa on it.
We would say the gen one is ideal for plinkers, or 22, 9mm kits.

The gen 2 is as strong or stronger then any Aluminum lower
It has metal inserts in all the right places, has a flared magwell.
