    55/56 sks

    Just a "small" question,

Does every 55/56 have the tiny Russian star on the side of the receiver?

    Thanks,

It would have to be Tula, as Ishevsk were only built in 1953-1954 afaik!

I don't have anything. I'm asking Sergy about his current 55/56 stock. I know what arsenal made which rifles. That's day one at SKS school.

Some 55/56 appear to have the tiny star on the side while others are absent or faint.

55 dated SKS's won't have the star. Only the No Date receiver cover 56 "Letter" guns will. Every letter gun sks I have seen has the star behind the serial number.
No such thing as too much ammunition or toilet paper...

I'm putting a plan together where I secure one Russian SKS of each year and store/hold them in a locked SKS crate in my recroom. Hoping Sergy can help me out with a few....

You could get an sks crate, put a glass top on it and make them into a coffee table like one other guy did on here. When I saw the pics of it I was jealous.
