The article he's reading is an obvious (to us anyway) misdirection piece aimed at the uninformed public to try to convince them that assault rifles are somehow still legal or that a certain model has slipped through the legal cracks. If the RCMP can't reclassify them on their own, the next best thing is to get people riled up and DEMAND that the government close the loop on these "evil Soviet-era baby killers."
