    No more piston driven ?
Well I was in the market for a ruger sr556 but I won't buy a gas impingement model,
Whole reason why this gun was desirable is because it was an affordable piston driven ar
Ruger blew it BIGTIME by changing the model to gi

Relax man. The SR556 is still being produced, that is the piston driven rifle. This is the AR556 which is direct impingement.

Suggested retail of the sr-556 is 2049. Suggested retail of the new ar-556 is 749. Wow! Can't go wrong with another AR option.
