Looking forward to filling my BC moose tag with the trusty 17 Hornet. Do you think it would be ok for griz too?

Could be because thats what he asked for! Why is it that evrytime someone asks about a gun/caliber someone always has to jump in with a better idea?? Just answer the question, he didnt ask for a debate over calibers.
Have a 75 Varmint in 308. Some say the 75 has a better stock than the 85, but after handling both I can't see the difference.
It is also available with a Sako 2oz set trigger :-)
I have an 85 and now most of my hunting friends are shooting 85's. Great rifle and action. (And magazine)
They all priced out custom Remington's and then went with the Sako.
McMillan also makes an aftermarket stock in their ultralight (and stiff) Edge hunter line. (As light as the finnlight but none of the downsides).
But shoots great as is too. I just think the 85 has options if you want them that appealed to me for a higher end 7lb hunter.
I read Guns and Ammo... And sometimes even Playboy.
