I bought one earlier this year, they are a great deal for a rock solid shotgun. I wanted it for bears when I am stream fishing with my boys and it's great I have been told winchester makes a longer barrel for the defender and if you can get some in I will buy one from you guys.

I have the older style defender and it is soooo much lighter, faster and smoother than an 870. Unfortunately the options are lacking. The tube on mine holds 7rnds though... I have no idea why they shortened the tube on these ones?

Can you get shorter barrels with chokes for these things and will they fit the older defenders?

    They are made in Turkey.

AFAIK, if the gun is made outside the US it can only hold 5 rounds in the mag due to import regs.

IMO These lil' darlins don't need accessories. I absolutely love mine.

Just wanted to add I've had one of these for three years and they rock! I have probably 500 rounds of mixed bird shot, slugs and buckshot through it without cleaning oiling and the gun functions awesome.
    Buy one!

Is the barrel thick enough to be threaded for a Truchoke?

I wish there was a sidesaddle i could attach. A poly or metal one, not fabric.

The Marine Defender model is threaded for invector plus chokes, if that info helps.

I've got an SXP defender and I love it. Also bought the turkey hunter edition.
