    Winter woes...................

Seeing what some parts of the US are going through with people stranded on the hwy's for 30+ hrs, have you prepared your vehicle and yourself?

    Do you have safety gear?

Do you have warmer outer clothes, boots, gloves and hat?

Do you have water and energy bars?

    Sleeping bag or blanket?

How about lights, shovel, traction assist and other safety gear?

Have you thought about how you would deal with being stranded on your way to or home from work?

    My advice? 42" plus tires, beadlocks & 1-3 psi, and a healthy V8... :D

    Don't forget the magnesium snowshoes.

What is the greatest depth of snow that you can handle with this setup? Don't you lose traction when the body starts to float?

I've been wondering what might be able to handle 6 feet of snow.

Haha that truck is floating, it's wear Fkn snowshoes man. Don't spin your self into your grave and I'm sure you'd be fine in that rig.

Have you thought about putting together some OST kits ( like the Brownell ESG kits)?

If its wet or heavy at all, I can get on top of it and then its unlimited. I know I have had a hard time walking/moving some spots I can drive easily (sinking past waist whiel truck sits ontop). If its pure powder, you can push it until its about grille height which is 5' on that truck, but you just snow plow. I sled too, and go to the same areas.

Horse power helps big time in the snow, I use every bit of the 450 I have when in the snow and I feel underpowered. 600+ would be ideal.

    Thanks for the reminder Farmboy.
I have some of those items but need to add a few more.
One of my favorites is the old sterno or caned heat.
They keep forever and would provide some much needed
    Warmth if need be.
Don't forget the bic lighter in the glovebox.
