Yup, I did it myself but managed to found it around the 25y line.
yes I know what I did, felt stupid as ####. walked the line I was shooting 10 times but its snow and grass. thanks, expect my email. think ill make a small cable tie for the next one. email sent

You don't need to tie it to your gun, just set it properly and forget about it.
On the positive side, you might find the original part in the spring after the melt-off and then you will have a spare one!
