    Manticore Arms - Tavor products

    Gents,

Not sure if anyone has ever asked you or if you have already tried... I think it would be worthwhile if you could carry Manticore Arms' line of accessories for the Tavor. Their new Overwatch rail/carry handle is sick and their keymod light switch is equally slick. My understanding is they haven't filed or been approved to ship to Canada? Not sure what that means exactly or if its true. I guess approval needs to come from the U.S Dept of Defence? I don't know if they understand how big the market is here for the Tavor. I'd have to think it would be worth their effort get the approval.

    Have a great Christmas Wolverines...!

If they don't have their exportation licensing in place they can't ship up here to Canada. You have to understand the cost and the time involved in doing so, and while you might think that there is a huge market here in Canada for something like this, realistically they most likely sell more in one month in the US that they would sell in a year in Canada. Couple that with the hassles of the licensing, the cost of cross border shipping and all the state dept paperwork required for each and every order shipped (very time consuming) for a lot of smaller companies it really doesn't work out being cost effective or potentially even profitable for them to do so.

Another site sponsor from Israel that already carries GHW products is already half way through import.

Honestly, I would not buy the Manticore Overwatch because it is a 2 piece design and ways more than the Gear Head Works equivalant rails. GHW rails are lighter, 1 piece design, and incorperate the GHW USA mounting system which is a nice option to have.

As for Arc Light forends, initailly I was interested, but then apon further consideration I decided against it as the accessory rail slots are proprietary and would be likely in short supply this side of the border.

Some keymod stuff can be hard enough to find, but at least it isn't proprietary. My main draw to the extended arclight forends was the further forward QD sling socket, however my MI XTL from wolverine looks pretty good with the Novenske keymod QD sling socket up front.

The cost of tooling up etc for a manufacturer in Canada would add so much to the cost as well.

At what cost per part? How many do you think the market in Canada is good for on each individual part? What would the company have to pay in royalties or patent fees? Is the cost of material more here in Canada? There are a whole lot of factors that come into play that the end user never sees or hears about.
