They don't run cleaner as all of the deposits are left on the front of the piston and not on the bolt.

Dont think that statement is accurate. Here is a 3 min youtube where you can see the gasses being expelled forward.

Completely untrue, do some research
Piston driven AR's run cleaner cooler and are way more reliable
I only own piston AR's they are superior in design and function and a breeze to clean.
I would choose piston over di every time.
It's like taking the absolute best part of an ak and adding it to an ar
It's a no brainer
I've read (can't attest to it) that the pistons tend to have more felt recoil and are claimed to be less accurate. AGAIN, that is just what I read on the internet, which we know never lies. I fired my buddies Stag 8R piston and it feels no different then my DPMS or Norinco. Maybe its cuz i'm soooo strong :D
Ok so if piston AR's are so much better then gas tubed AR's, then why don't more manufacturers use pistons in their AR's
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Semper Paratus
who said they were so much better?? simply stated they run cleaner in the action. I stated above they are said to be less accurate and have more felt recoil.....so not better in my books. I guess it comes down to preference. I personally like taking my AR apart and cleaning it. Some can't stand it. Further, most piston AR's don't have any sort of standard/mil-spec to adhere to when it comes to piston system. IE the piston in a SIG will be different then that in a STAG or a RUGER. Therefore replacement parts have to be bought directly from the manufacturer.
Perhaps this discussion should be carried out in the black rifle forum, instead of the business area.
I just took advantage of this deal now to impatiently wait until it shows up :D
