How about just a 7" top end designed to fit a standard 1911 lower
    Definitely the cheapest/easiest solution.

This turns it from something I would try to get someone else to buy and borrow into something I would buy. I am an idiot and not representative of the overall shooting community though. If it was priced well, I would even get it in 10 mm without checking the price of ammunition.

If Norinco doesn't want it, this might be a good collaborative project for Can Am and Dlask Arms.

Are handguns like AR's where the lower is the "Gun" and the upper is an accessory? If so, the top slide could be made by anyone and need no approval from RCMP or anything, right?
Anyone doing any Long-Range, Pistol, or Action-Shooting in or around the Elk Valley/Crowsnest Pass? I'd love to tag along, send me a PM

That's true. We could get 7 inch slide assemblies easily. That way some could have porting, others not.

Some longslides have lightened slides. Porting is an add on that is useful for 10mm for example. If they are making a new product is worth discussing variants. It's academic, of course, since we don't warrant a response.

Who knows, maybe one day these will just show up on the Can Am site. I'm dreaming aren't I? A 6" or 7" in 45 would be my choice, plain GI so I could do my own work on it.
