He even worked up and power supply to go in the grip, buy they wanted everything for free (and that #### was expensive), so they went for the body pack. Cool history.
Here's some old school to add to the thread........years ago a local ERT member (family friend) gave us his old LAM unit when they upgraded to newer smaller stuff, still got the thing in a box somewhere.

Date on the unit is May 1988, exact model I can't read in the pictures I'll try and find it and say exactly what it is.

I've actually had it mounted on a friends 9mm AR and we had some fun with it, ain't no school like the old school.

Would love to setup a retro AR15 with 1980's period everything on it!

I'd want all silver controls, however.

I'll take a matching pair with opposite ports (mirror image). 6" preferred, but I wouldn't say no to the 7".

    With:

    -no front slide serrations
    -round hammer
    -no sight rib
-rear slide serrations the same angle as the grip

Like these, but without the million dollar price tag:

...and I know everything that shines ain't always gonna be gold.

Actually one of the finest 1911s ever made. All the long slides in Thief were crafted by Jim Hoag. He LOVED the long slides. Just give me a slabside GI style 7", and I'll have my way with it.
