Just wondering whats happening with these?

The only thread I could find was from 2012 pointing to a (dead) link to an old wolverine thread.

2012? 3 years ago! I remember hearing the rcmp lab still had them - have they still said nothing? How on earth is it taking them this long to classify it?

What can WE do to help this move along?

Classification of B&T (Brugger & Thomet) APC Sporting Rifle Timeline.
APC GEN 1:
On Dec 12th 2011 Specialized Firearms Support Services (SFSS) received a parcel containing qty one (1) B&T AG, Model: APC-R serial number CA 11-0055, from Wolverine Supplies.
A formal examination commenced on Feb 14, 2012 and was completed on Feb?, images for the Inspection File were taken Feb 15 2012.
CONCLUSIONS (by the RCMP)
The receiver/frame of the B&T AG, Model: APC-R receiver, serial number CA 11-0055 is a full automatic receiver. This firearm shares a common receiver with the B&T, Model APC which may be found at FRT # 139019.
APC GEN 2:
GEN 2 was never submitted to the RCMP as we found it to be not much different of previous model.
APC GEN 3:
Submitted to RCMP
RCMP INSPECTION REPORT dated 2013 -01-30, CASE NUMBER GFC-2000-7-1-14243:
- The legal class of the Brugger & Thomet, B&T, Model: APC Generation III Semi-Automatic Carbine is “prohibited”, full automatic, and may be found at FRT 142043.
APC GEN 4:
Shipped on 10 July 2014 to the RCMP. E-mails send for updates right after to ensure it was received and work to continue. No reply received, Reached Mr. Etter by phone 20 August 2014, asked for timeline of inspection, and suggested that this is continuation of Classification of APC Rifle. Mr. Etters reply was: Approx. 6 month, 181 cases before this one, no queue jumping as this is considered a new application. Military and Law Enforcement request are worked on first then commercial requests.
Mr. Etter mentioned that he has requested additional help (6 more people) for his department which is presently only 2 people.
Mr. Etter said he wished he had better news, but no sense of sugar coating the situation


Gun owners need to bring this problem to their MP's attention and in particular the following:
The dealers and importers have businesses. That is a commercial environment. The RCMP are in a totally different environment. The RCMP have as a primary purpose the section of crime and solving criminal investigations. That is in conflict with the commercial business world. The RCMP have a primary responsibility as set out in the RCMP Act.
The RCMP are not concerned with nor are they equipped or trained to respond to the commercial concerns of the business of firearms.

This is exemplified by the time responses. The RCMP is not responding to the commercial needs of the businesses and the consumer. That is not their mandate. Yet they have been placed or maybe taken a position that places their opinion in the key position of regulation of commerce. They confuse the investigation of crime with the regulation of commerce. There is a favouritism that is apparent. The RCMP lab has also developed a bias affairs the interests of the importer and the manufacturer. This skepticism is a strong bias and they react by creating unnecessary delays in the processing of requests for opinion.

Typing up some form of letter to easily explain my frustrations with how this system works from a consumer level to send to my MP. Really wish I could just make a bullet point to send, but alas - Need to say it with political jargon.

There has not been any final decision yet, we are optimistic the decision will be favorable but have to wait in line and it could take the RCMP SFSS three years!
