There is no such thing as a full auto variant of an SKS. There is only such a thing as a poorly cleaned SKS in the hands of a f@cktard.

Not arguing with the fact that this was being investigated... but where does it indicate that all SKS rifles on import will be 'quarantined'?

Man this thread is full of fail... The SKS that was investigated by the RCMP was not a slamfire SKS from not cleaning. It was a faulty disconnecter in the trigger group which enabled the hammer to follow the bolt without having to pull the trigger for successive shots, thus shooting in full auto. All those have been inspected and that is a done issue. You guys do realize there are few to no SKS's currently coming into the country as the imports from Russia and Ukraine have been halted due to political and economic sanctions on the trade of Military surplus firearms and the conflict over there. The Chinese imports are also a no go due to their jacking the price too high for the importers to make it worth it. That is why SKS's are running out. The SKS gravy train is ending people.

not all, just some new shipments in Canada, went to a dealer today and he couldn't procure any new sks's because some defects were noted in a recently shipped batch which led to full auto faulty trigger. He showed me the paper work that was sent to him and reported that he had an investigator show up at his business to see if he had any sks's left in stock that were of this variety. Just think of it as a limited recall pending investigation. Any stock currently in Canada before this went down is fine.

Agreed on the gravy train ending, real shame, stock up when you can and buy spare parts, I've been looking for a Chinese SKS for quite some time now and haven't had any luck.

Another dealer pointed out that the issue isn't getting the guns into the country. There are ways around the embargo (don't ask, they say). The problem is the deals are done overseas in US dollars so new shipments are going to be more expensive accordingly.
