What's the best way to snap that retaining ring on for the sling mount? They never taught me in sheet metal school.

I sacrificed an old small C clamp, filed the upper jaw until it was thinner and rounded to roughly match the inside of the magazine tube. This took about 15 minutes?, then using a thin piece of wood on the outside to protect the exterior of the magtube, cranked it tight.
It eventually moved the dimples out enough to be able to lightly tap in a socket(think it was a 17mm deep socket)that fit snugly into the tube.
Once the socket got past the dimples, then tapped the outside carefully with a hammer to really flatten it out and keep a nice round shape. A little tiny bit of light filing on the outside so the barrel ring would slide over an it works perfectly. Used cold blue on the lightly filed areas. This way, very smooth no holes in the mag tube, very little material removed at all.
Also, after removing those dimples, and using S and J's new follower but with the original mag tube cap, I am now able to fit 6 in the stock tube, and 7 with the +2 adapter.

One of the thing I do it this
Drill out the center of the dedent with. Small drill, no pressuer to be used.
They larger drill.
After they die grinder and fine bit. Aka dremall.
Then use socket or denednt removal tool to make sure not bump is left.
Last fine felt buffer on die grinder.
Clean all bits out then check with both factory follower and the s&j no jam.
The reason I do it this way. Not just use the exspensive. Dedent removal tool is, useing the tool in one or 2 shots. Sometime can deform. The magtube. Ask me how I know...
I have done 100,s of remington,s.

So... looks like I’m a few years late to the party! Any chance you’ll be making another run of the mag extenders for the SXP? Any insight would be much appreciated!

I’m also interested in this.
Any way you could have these powder coated to match the black chrome finish of the regular SXP Defender?

They stopped making them as Winchester changed threading from one SXP model to another. My +2 extension wouldn't come on and I couldn't return it.

Bummer indeed! Anybody know of any other Winchester SXP mag extension options out there?
