Nice... well, here we go. Order placed at Brownells. Wish they had a dedicated Canadian division, like Cabela’s, etc...
Order cancelled at Brownells... they wanted a ridiculous amount of paperwork filled out. They were requesting paper copies of Canada’s import policies... registered letters to be sent... here are the details from the email they sent me... such a hassle just to try to get an extended magazine tube!
“ This order is currently on hold and will require an export license from the Department of Commerce before it can be shipped to you. While this can often be a confusing process, we are here to help!! We will need just a few documents from you and will submit them to the Department of Commerce once everything is complete. The export license approval process can take up to 30 to 45 days once we have received all of the information and the application is submitted. There is no charge for this application.
The required documents we need from you in order to process your order:
-BIS Form 711 (attached to this email)
-Must be completed by you and we will sign stating no corrections have been made to the form once we it has been received
-A copy of your Import Certificate/Permit from your country
-Your import permit must reflect a street address, not just a P.O. Box
-This can usually be provided by your countries customs agency or law enforcement
-If your country does not require and import permit for the items on your order, you will need to post us a certified letter reflecting this information.
-A written purchase order on your letterhead or stationary with your address
This purchase order must be directed to Brownells and include at a minimum:
-Make, model, and calibers as applicable
-Quantities of each item
-Dollar value of each item and totals
-A date
-A signature from you
