    Where to buy surplus ammo?

    Hi,

I'd like to buy some 7.62 x 51 ammo for my Norinco M14s. Can someone suggest a decent source. Also, is surplus ammo any good? I've read a lot of conflicting information. Some say good, others say bad....is it hit an miss with this sort of ammunition?

    Thanks,
    AB

Look in the EE. I have found lots in there....in excess of 1500 rounds.

P.s. I am frugal, old, but can read. Most commercial places will want you to buy a case, 1120, 1240 rounds. More then what you need for starting. That is why I suggest the EE.

I usually use SFRC, Canada Ammo, Budget Shooter Supply, or the local gun shows when I'm buying ammo.

Surplus ammo will work fine in your M14. Like the others guys have already said, check the EE or site sponsors. My last batch of surplus 7.62x51 came from Canada Ammo for a good price. It shot like a dream. Wolverine also has a 1000 rd case on sale right now.

If you find it, buy it... Truly surplus 7.62 NATO is pretty much a thing of the past, and even the Norc has pretty much dried up. Apparently everything coming in now will be commercial production and priced close to other "budget" ammo out there (i.e.: American Eagle)...
