Anything after the classification change, where these rifles could no longer legally change hands (other than to a business with a prohibited license)?

"several records that could be used"....?????,,not to likely since ALL that info is VERY VERY old and out of date,,,the NR could have changed hands many times since then,,,so it would do the Police no good,,,no judge would sign a warrant just on a suspicion that a few years ago you bought a 858,,LOL,,,,restricted guys are #### out of luck,,,if they came for a restricted i would simply give them the small portion of the reciever that has the serial number,,,NOTHING else,,,would piss them off,,but there's nothing they can do about it,,it's THEIR law....LOL

That was my point. The NR registry is dead and buried and not reliable for a warrant. A new voluntary list of people claiming to own one and not wanting to lose it could give some dirty politicians a starting point on how to round up these guns.
    It is a possibility only.

I have sent dozens and dozens of letters out to various people in order for "us" to keep our Swiss Arms/CZ858's. It doesn't mean I own one. I am not fighting for my rights but for gun owners rights as a group. Which gun are they going to target next? We need to make our stand now while we still have a leg to stand on.

My wife and I had a 2 1/2 hour meeting with CZ yesterday at the IWA Show in Germany. We met with seven members of CZ including the President and Vice President. The only topic of conversation was the plight of CZ 858 owners in Canada.

All options were explored we discussed the sitituation from a Political, Legal, Practical and Financial view. We now have to consult with Lawyers, Engineers and Accountents before working out a plan of action.

I must thank all those who responded to my request and e- mailed their thoughts to CZ, this certainly had a very positive bearing on our discussions.

In my opinion we must keep this situation "front and center" with our Government as the amnesty period is half over, we have an election this year and they (Government) need to action this now. I suggest the timing is correct for another round of letters to your MP and the Minister.

Thank you all for your continued patience.
