Practising IPSC / USPSA With Airsoft or BB Gun

With the high cost of ammunition and shortage or reloading supplies, I have been supplementing my practice with my Airsoft gun in the basement. I put together a little video to show people the equipment I use and a simple drill that helps to improve your transitions and speed.

You can get most of the equipment used from Fast Toys Shooting Sports

    Equipment Used:

    Tanfoglio Airsoft Gun
DAA C-More Side Mount with Thumb Rest
    DAA Shotmaxx Timer
    DAA Belt & Holster

A good idea. I started drills with airsoft pistols before I got my RPAL. I reccomend going with a green gas gun because the magazines are almost identical to the real things. This allows you to practice magazine changes too. While they will accept up to 30 6mm pellets, I just load them up with the same number as allowed, ie. 10 in Canada. The same if you want to use an AR-15 style rifle. Green gas is a bit more expensive but is much more realistic. I've never played with airsoft shotguns, but they have some realistic pump action guns. I'm not sure they use shells, though, so loading practice may not be possible.

I have a 1911 gas blow back green gas gun made by WE, same weight and controls as my IPSC gun. Mags are the same size as the real ones and fit in my rig along with the pistol. The recoil is obviously not the same as shooting .40, but the timing of the slide is pretty close.

PM me if you need the name of an online store.

Yes! That is why it is such good practice. The CO2 versions hit a lot harder so you have to track the dot with each shot. CO2 is also safe to shoot inside while green gas / propane is not. Green gas also has less recoil as there is less pressure.
