    Sorry for not posting anything earlier. Yes the gas tube has play and will rattle after some time. It's normal. Mine has rattled for a few year now. If you do a modification be aware that it can change the consistency of groups, you may start seeing two groups one above the other.

    Ok if i notice my groups change all take the snap ring out. So far so good tho! Is there any chance I will damage the gas tube now that I have taken up the play? When hot (expansion)?

    I can't see a problem as long as it's just snug, not tight tight.

    The gas tube is supposed to have play as the gas tube is free floated from the barrel.

    Having said that, if your groups improve I'd be willing to try it...
