I have never had a bad experience with canpar and I have had at least 6 packages delivered by them. That being said they will only attempt 2 deliveries to your address before sending it back to the shipper so make sure someone is there to sign, or like crackerbarrel said print off the authorisation sheet and sign it with detailed instructions on where to leave their package. And their online package tracking is the worst I have used, always late to get updated if it gets updated at all

I'm currently waiting on an order that hasn't been updated since the "pickup from shipper" a week ago. It had an estimated delivery date of two days ago that disappeared when the parcel didn't arrive that day. Now it just shows the pickup date. So it could be worse

Canpar is good, but no courier is great in rural areas as they all hand off to contractors who often serve huge areas.

We ship thousands of packages a year with them and ride them very hard on there service, so they are always getting better.

I would definitely call their office about that one! I've had two deliveries from them and both were great. When I knew I wouldn't be home I signed the form. One time I missed them and I called the driver to reschedule pick up. Signature required would probably be the best bet for something like your situation.
Cell phones and email/texting have made things a lot easier now.

They left 1000 of .45ACP AND the 1911 Norinco TOGETHER on my front step for every ill intent person to grab..... Not even signed reception of those packages..... Could have turned out bad in the wrong hands

Believe it or not armedsask I have had great success with them here in Regina. When I was getting a rifle delivered and I wasn't home, the driver personally called me and said to call him when I am home. So I did and within 10 mins I had the rifle at my door. Now I haven't had any misplaced packages or anything from them but that could be solely because the Calgary Shooting Centre did an excellent job in labeling the package. Zero room for error.

As suggested, my worries were alleviated.
A small fabric and decorating store, who I knew picked up a bit of extra cash receiving the Greyhound bus, also turns out to be a drop off for undeliverable Canpar packages. (Among others that have no other drop off in town).
They phoned me Monday, and I picked it up Tuesday. Two boxes, each marked Dominion 7.62x39 1000 rounds.
I now know where I can have my parcels from Canada Ammo sent in the future.
Thanks for the Delivery Canada Ammo, very happy doing business with you.
