I use Dewey cleaning rods. I have two that will work for my rifles and shotgun. I have a nylon brush, a bronze brush, and a jag for each caliber. Hoppe's 9 solvent, and lubricating oil, are the only fluids in the cleaning kit.

As far as cleaning the firearm, I was thinking of buying these:

    1. Otis Technology Tactical Cleaning System with 6 Brushes
    2. Otis Technology M-16/Small Caliber Patches (100)
    3. Froglube

Do I need anything else, like a Hopps snake? Or would the kit above alone cover my .22lr rifle bases?
+++++1 for Otis. Have one of those for myself. The one tailored for handguns. Has 9mm and 45 cal bore brushes, assorted vinyl wrapped cables for cleaning the barrels. I'm sure there are lots of other great kits around. But mine is an Otis )
